Chapter 1
Since it opened in 2013 in Beirut, Lebanon, Maison Roula offers you wedding and evening dresses that can be characterized as elegant, glamourous, refined and sourced from feminism and self-confidence.
The brand bears the name “Roula”, the founder of this fashion house. Roula was born in 1963, in Beirut. The youngest of 4 sisters, she developed an interest for fashion in her childhood and acquired a machine to sew garments for her and her siblings. She always had a taste for uniqueness and insisted on customizing the clothes with regards to each one’s body type and personality.
In 1990 she studied fashion design in Paris, where she graduated from L’École de La Chambre Syndical de la couture Parisienne. “I had the chance to meet Yves, Karl, Férré, Claudia Schiffer and many others …” she said. “I remember Férré cutting the amazing Dior suits, only 5 hours before the show, it was crazy.”
Few years later, she came back to Beirut, where she worked for Elie Saab for 2 years and Zuhair Murad for 13 years as a Chef d’atelier.
Chapter 2
In 2020, Lina decided to create an online shop for her mother’s brand.
“When I came back to Lebanon I realized how anxious a bride can be when preparing her wedding” she says.
Since that day, it became essential for her to launch an online platform intended for all future brides. A place she sees as a must visit for coming generations.
When buying online at Maison Roula, you buy a dress that is tailored to your measurements, a dress that you can customize. But there is more to the story!
It is a place committed to women who do not really have the time nor the will to spend countless hours in shops, with constraints on the number of pieces they can try, especially when shopping for a wedding dress.
In short, it is an online marketplace that offers you a unique shopping experience to purchase easily, efficiently and calmly your dream dress without being constrained by the shapes and standardized sizes offered by the market and dictated by trends.
Chapter 3
On August 4, 2020, 6:08 p.m, Beirut time, the devastating explosion of the Port of Beirut is tearing the atelier apart and destroying the dreams of the mother-daughter duo. However, disaster will not be a fatality. A month after having lost almost everything, the two Lebanese women regain courage and strength and are determined to bounce back. It was in Paris, the source of their inspiration, that they decided to revive Maison Roula.
Maison Roula is now in Paris.
In 2021 and 2022, the mother and daughter duo launched many ‘pop-ups’ around the city. It permitted them to meet their Parisian clientele and understand their world, desire and taste. Today, they opened definitively in the center of Paris: 36 rue Etienne Marcel.
Love and passion always wins !
